Three Ways to Fall in Love with Vietnam

Vietnam is one of those places that quietly sneaks onto your bucket list… and then refuses to leave. Think chaotic cities, misty limestone cliffs, lantern-lit streets and some of the best food you’ll ever eat. If you’re not sure where to start, here are three TUI tours that do the planning for you.

TUI has different tour options for Vietnam, check them out here:

Vietnam Tours with TUI

Vietnam is one of those countries that just grabs you the moment you step foot in it. From the buzzing streets of Hanoi to the chaotic charm of Ho Chi Minh City, there’s a mix of energy and tradition everywhere. But it’s not all city life—head into the countryside and you’ll find stunning rice terraces in Sapa or the peaceful waterways of the Mekong Delta. It’s a country where modern life and history sit side by side, and somehow it just works.

The history here is fascinating, too. Vietnam has seen everything from ancient dynasties to colonial times and the Vietnam War, and you can feel it in the architecture, temples, and even the way people live today. And the food—oh, the food! Street vendors serve up pho, banh mi, and fresh spring rolls that are some of the best bites you’ll ever have. Every meal feels like a little adventure.

Nature lovers are in for a treat as well. Ha Long Bay’s limestone cliffs, hidden caves, and emerald waters are breathtaking, while the coastline has plenty of spots to relax and soak up the sun. Honestly, Vietnam’s got a little bit of everything—history, culture, food, and scenery—all wrapped up in one unforgettable experience.

Across all three tours, international flights, transfers, internal transport and English-speaking guides are included. You’ll need to check visa requirements in advance (Cambodia requires one), and passports details are needed at booking to secure experiences. Currency is Vietnamese dong (and Cambodian riel if you cross borders), though small USD notes are handy too.

Tour 1: Vibrant Vietnam

Vietnam Tour with TUI

The classic. The greatest hits. The “I want to see it all” option.

This 11-night tour takes you from the buzzing streets of Ho Chi Minh City all the way to the limestone dreamscape of Halong Bay — with plenty of pho stops in between.

You’ll kick things off in Ho Chi Minh City, where scooters outnumber common sense and the coffee is strong enough to change your life. Expect visits to the War Remnants Museum, the grand old Central Post Office, and skyline views from the Bitexco Tower. There’s even an optional scooter tour if you’re feeling brave (or mildly chaotic).

Then it’s off to the Mekong Delta, where you’ll glide along in a traditional sampan boat, watching riverside life drift by before tucking into lunch in tropical gardens.

Hue brings imperial drama — ancient citadels, royal tombs and a peaceful cruise along the Perfume River. Then comes Hoi An, aka the City of Lanterns. It’s all glowing evenings, tailor shops, and streets that look like they belong on a postcard.

Hanoi delivers culture, history and street food tours (yes please), before you board a traditional-style cruise ship for an overnight stay in Halong Bay. Kayak past limestone peaks, explore Surprise Cave, try sunrise Tai Chi on deck.

You’ll stay in a mix of 3* and 4* hotels, plus one night on the cruise. Breakfast is included daily, along with selected lunches and dinners, loads of guided experiences, and local English-speaking guides. Minimum age is 16. Tipping? Handled through TUI’s kitty system — easy.

Tour 2: Vietnam & Cambodia with a Beach Finish

Vietnam, Cambodia & Beach Tour with TUI

Culture-packed… then cocktails.

This 17-day tour is for anyone who wants the full Southeast Asia experience — Vietnam, Cambodia and a proper beach wind-down at the end.

You’ll start in Ho Chi Minh City with temple visits, colonial architecture and a welcome dinner that immediately confirms you’re going to eat very well for the next two weeks.

Then you’ll hop over to Siem Reap in Cambodia — hello, Angkor temples and jungle-wrapped ruins. It’s bucket-list stuff.

Back in Vietnam, you’ll explore Hanoi’s temples and try iconic egg coffee (don’t question it, just drink it). Then comes Halong Bay for that overnight cruise — seafood lunches, cave explorations and sundeck sunsets included.

Hue and Hoi An follow, bringing royal history, scenic mountain passes and lantern-lit streets. You’ll have free time to explore, maybe take a cooking class or even visit the Golden Bridge at Ba Na Hills.

And just when you think it can’t get better… you finish with several nights at a beachfront hotel. No alarms. No sightseeing schedules. Just sea, sand and serious relaxation.

This one includes international and domestic flights, an overnight cruise, a mix of 3*–5* hotels, daily breakfast and selected meals, plus 20 included experiences. Minimum age is 16.

Tour 3: Discover Vietnam & Cambodia

Vietnam & Cambodia Tour with TUI

Shorter. Slicker. Still incredible.

If you’re tight on time but still want Vietnam and Cambodia ticked off properly, this 14-day version is ideal.

You’ll follow a similar route — Ho Chi Minh City, Siem Reap, Hanoi, Halong Bay, Hue and Hoi An — but without the extended beach stay at the end.

Expect temple hopping in Cambodia, street food in Hanoi, cruising through Halong Bay’s emerald waters, wandering Hue’s Imperial Citadel and soaking up Hoi An’s lantern glow.

There’s guided sightseeing throughout, plenty of foodie moments, and free time built in so you can explore at your own pace (or hunt down more snacks).

You’ll stay in 3* and 4* hotels plus one night on the cruise ship. Breakfast daily, selected lunches and dinners included. And again, TUI’s tipping kitty system keeps things simple.

Travel Hacks

• Cross the road confidently in Vietnam — hesitation confuses scooter drivers.
• Download Grab app for cheap, reliable taxis everywhere.
• Carry small USD notes for Cambodia visa on arrival.
• Sunrise in Halong Bay > sunset. Set the alarm.
• Tailor something in Hoi An — you’ll regret it otherwise.
• Try egg coffee. Ignore the name. Trust the flavour.
• Pack lightweight layers — air con can be Arctic.
• Keep hotel business cards — taxi drivers love exact addresses.

Vietnam isn’t just a holiday. It’s motorbikes buzzing past temples, bowls of pho at plastic tables, mist rolling over limestone cliffs and lanterns glowing at night. Whether you add Cambodia, finish on the beach, or go full culture mode — these tours make it effortless. You just show up and soak it in.
