Beaches

Krabi is known for its stunning beaches and scenic views. Ao Nang Beach is a busy, beach town offering a lively atmosphere with lots of bars, restaurants, and shops. This is the place to enjoy water sports or just relax on the beach. We found Tonsai Beach near to Railay a more laid-back vibe. It’s perfect for rock climbing up the limestone cliffs. Don’t worry about your level of skill as there are routes for everyone. Rock Climbing at Railay Beach on Viator

Nature

Dive into the dreamy Emerald Pool—clear, warm, and surrounded by jungle. Wander to the magical Blue Lagoon, lunch like a local, then soak your stress away in natural hot springs. Finish with the incredible Tiger Cave Temple. Yes, there are stairs. Yes, your legs will scream. But that view? Worth it. Tiger Cave Temple, Emerald Pool and Hot Springs Tour, GetYourGuide

Glide through the green-glow waters of Klong Root in a kayak. Trees, flowers, fish, and total serenity—it’s nature’s spa day. Cool off with a cheeky swim, then end the trip at a pineapple plantation where you snack on the freshest fruit you’ll ever meet. Easy, breezy, tropical perfection. Klong Root (Crystal lake) Kayaking tour, GetYourGuide

Island Hopping

As Krabi is close to the Andaman Sea this makes it a good base for island hopping adventures. A couple of our favourites are the Phi Phi islands where the film “The Beach” was filmed. Phi Phi Islands Day Tour, GetYourGuide. Also, James Bond Island in Phang Nga Bay where “The Man with the Golden Gun” was filmed. The clear crystal waters here are fantastic for swimming and snorkelling around the coral reefs. James Bond Island on Viator

Krabi Elephant sanctuary

The shelter was set up to help elephants who have been abused and suffered hardship. The Elephants here live with humans and enjoy the daily activities as this is what they have become used to. This is a fantastic experience getting the opportunity to get up close to the elephants feeding and bathing them. Splashing and rolling in the mud with such huge gentle animals is amazing but a very dirty business so you will need to bring a change of clothes! Well worth a visit if you are an animal lover. Sunset Cruises

If you’re looking for something different to do on an evening, watching the sunset in Krabi is a mesmerizing experience. You can take a sunset cruise on a longtail boat or a luxury yacht to watch the sun setting over the Andaman Sea, painting the sky with an array of colour. We would recommend Krabi 7 Island sunset tour where we enjoyed a delicious Thai buffet dinner, snorkelling and watching the sun set from the sea. This is a trip where you can do as much or as little as you want. 7 Islands Sunset Tour, GetYourGuide

Local Cuisine

Krabi boasts a wide array of local foods it is well known for its seafood, from grilled fish to seafood curries. Thai street food, from Pad Thai to Mango sticky rice is delicious and found in the market areas. If you’re looking for a restaurant there are many beachside where you can dip your toes in the water whilst eating. Mama ping restaurant is a favourite of ours right on the beach serving delicious authentic thai food. The staff are very friendly and the service is great.

Nightlife

Every evening Krabi comes alive with its vibrant nightlife scene. Ao Nang is the place to be if you like a party atmosphere. It offers a variety of bars, clubs, and live music events. We enjoyed the beach parties, fire shows and dancing to end our evenings.

Shopping

Krabi Walking Street market is a shopper’s paradise. It is on day and night with around 50 stalls offering a huge range of products anything from arts and crafts, clothes and shoes to fruit and vegetables, gifts and souvenirs On an evening the place comes alive and the atmosphere is busy. Street food is available to enjoy as you mooch around the stalls.
