Practical Tips for Valencia
Currency: It’s the Euro (€). Card payments are easy, but carry a few coins for small cafés.
Language: They speak Spanish and Valencian. English is common in touristy spots – smiles work everywhere else.
Tipping: Not required, but rounding up or leaving 5–10% for great service is appreciated.
Plug adapters: You’ll need a Type C or F adapter (two round pins). Same as most of Europe.
Transport: The Metro and buses are fab. Get a Valencia Tourist Card for unlimited rides & discounts.
Sun safety: It gets hot. Hat, shades, SPF 50. You don’t want to go home lobster-red.
Opening hours: Siesta is real. Some shops shut mid-afternoon, so plan around it (aka nap time!).
Hop-on Hop-off Bus: Jump on to see all the major sights, in your own time. Hop-on Hop-off Bus Ticket, GetYourGuide
