Best Baby & Toddler Holidays Abroad

Thinking about taking your baby or toddler on holiday? Feels a bit scary, right? But honestly, it doesn’t have to be. These days, loads of hotels cater for little ones with baby clubs, kids’ clubs, and all the gear you’d usually lug from home. Plus, the earlier you start travelling as a family, the easier it gets for future adventures.

Top tip: April to June and September to October is the sweet spot. You’ll get sunshine without it being roasting hot, and flight times are short enough to (hopefully) avoid too many mid-air meltdowns.

On The Beach Holidays

Here are our favourite stress-free, baby-and-toddler-approved holiday spots:

Lanzarote

Why do parents love Lanzarote? Simple—no time difference. Bedtime stays bedtime, mealtimes stay mealtimes. No jet lag battles. The island’s 93 beaches are toddler heaven, and you even get cool black-sand stretches for something different. Bring beach shoes and let your little scientist splash about in the rock pools when the tide goes out. Sandcastles + crabs = happy kids, happy parents.

Majorca

Got a picky eater? Majorca’s got you. From kids’ menus with chips and nuggets to proper paella for you—it’s all covered. For something a bit special, hop on the old-fashioned wooden train to Soller. Ninety minutes, 13 tunnels, loads of bridges, and your little Thomas the Tank fan will be glued to the window. Bonus: no driving stress for you.

Ibiza

Forget the glowsticks—it’s not all nightclubs. Ibiza has a fab family side. Toddlers will love a glass-bottom boat trip, spotting fish without getting wet. Or spend a day at Aguamar waterpark—perfect for all ages, and you can even bring your own food (lifesaver with fussy eaters). With plenty of changing facilities too, it’s surprisingly parent-friendly.

Menorca

Quick flight, calm vibes, and more beaches than Ibiza and Majorca put together. Menorca’s a winner. Es Grau beach is the superstar here—shallow water for what feels like forever, so toddlers can splash safely. Think giant natural paddling pool. The island’s slower pace makes it perfect for lazy family days—ice cream stops and marina strolls included.

Sardinia

Want something a little different? Sardinia is baby heaven. Italians love kids—expect waiters cooing over your toddler while you tuck into pasta. High chairs are few in Sardinia, so it may be an idea to pack a portable one. Rock formations shaped like bears and elephants will wow little eyes, and if that’s not enough, how about pink flamingos in the San Teodoro Lagoon? Trust us, toddlers won’t forget that sight in a hurry.

Turkey

Turkey ticks all the boxes—shortish flight, family-friendly resorts, and huge all-inclusive hotels with splash parks and kids’ clubs. Antalya and Dalaman areas are especially good, with calm beaches for tiny paddlers and plenty of shaded spots for nap time. Plus, Turkish food is super kid-friendly—flatbreads, grilled chicken, and fresh fruit galore.

Greece

If you’re looking for a mix of beaches, culture, and easy-going family vibes, Greece is ideal. Islands like Crete and Rhodes are perfect for toddlers, with shallow seas, family-run tavernas, and hotels that bend over backwards for kids. And while your little one builds sandcastles, you can sneak in some feta and sunshine. Win-win.

TUI BLUE hotels are designed with families in mind, making holidays with babies and toddlers a breeze. Helpful Tips

Pack familiar snacks – Airports and resorts don’t always stock your toddler’s favourites—bring their go-to snacks to avoid meltdowns between meals.

Book daytime flights – Where possible, fly during daylight hours—keeping routines closer to normal means fewer tired tears and easier nap schedules.

Choose family-friendly accommodation  Look for hotels with baby clubs, splash pools, and highchairs included—it saves you packing space and daily stress.

Bring a lightweight buggy – Compact strollers fold easily for planes, fit into tight taxis, and save your arms from toddler-carrying marathons.

Pack a first-aid kit – Include calpol, plasters, and teething gel—having your own supplies avoids language barriers when shopping abroad.

Stick to shade-friendly beaches – Opt for shallow, calm beaches with umbrellas or natural shade—perfect for safe splashing without worrying about sunburn.

Download toddler-friendly apps – Simple, offline games or cartoons can be a lifesaver for queues, flights, and unexpected delays without WiFi.

Book trips in advance so you know the plan – Check out GetYourGuide & Viator for the best trips at great prices.

Take a baby carrier – Great for exploring cobbled towns or busy markets where strollers aren’t practical, keeping hands free and toddlers close.

Travelling with babies and toddlers doesn’t need to be daunting—with the right prep, it can be fun and surprisingly relaxing. From smart packing to family-focused hotels, small hacks make a huge difference. Plan ahead, embrace flexibility, and you’ll create stress-free memories you’ll treasure forever.
