Located in central Turkey, it’s a region of bizarre landscapes, unusual geological formations and fascinating history.

Located on a high plateau Cappadocia is first mentioned in texts going back to the 6th Century BC when the area was known as Persia. In later times, Cappadocia became a throughfare between the Turkish states to the East and West.

It’s fair to say the most striking part of the Cappadocia skyline is the myriad of hot air balloons taking tourists up for a better view of the famous Fairy Chimneys, striking geological formations caused through erosion. The sight of dozens of brightly coloured balloons in the early morning is something to behold.
